Hallo! My name is Christina Brombach. I was born in Germany in 1978, but I've lived in the UK for some of my life, having recently returned to Germany after working as a self-employed translator, proofreader and copy-editor from Windsor, Berkshire for two years. Let me tell you more about who I am and what I can do for you.

In 1998, I took my Abitur (equivalent of A-Levels), with German and English as my two main subjects. I did quite well, so I decided to spend 6 months in the UK as an Au Pair. Returning to Germany, I started University, eventually ending up with a master's degree in English (language and literature) and Italian.

That was not the end of my University education, though. I decided I wanted to keep going and started a PhD in English Literature, which I hope to finish in 2016. My thesis is called "Popular Mythologies: 20th Century Fantasy Fiction from Tolkien to Gaiman".

My other great love, besides English literature, is text in its many forms. For the past eight years, I have worked with many different kinds of texts, translating novels, non-fiction books, packaging, boardgame rulebooks and components, and marketing material from German into English and vice versa. I have also copy-edited and proofread three novels as well as many shorter texts, notably a number of German DVD covers and several boardgame rulebooks. To cap it off, I have also written copy, mostly for Social Media Marketing. As you can see, there is no gig that's too great or small for me.

I can offer you reliable, fast and competent text-based services in native-speaker German and excellent English, at competitive rates and at short notice if you need it by yesterday. Contact me to find out more!
